What lengths does the flexible
array come in?
All flexible array pieces are made
to your ordered length.
What is the maximum length
for a flexible array piece?
Lengths to 20 ft. can be ordered.
The Led Company recommends a maximum length of 10 ft. with
multiple pieces used for longer runs
Can any length of flexible
array be made as long as it is less than the maximum length
recommended?
The flexible array is made in standard
segment lengths. The 1 inch spaced flexible array comes
in 3" segments. The 1/2 inch flexible array comes
in 1.5" segments. Unless ordered otherwise, the pieces
are cut to the ordered length or the increment just shorter.
What color leds are available?
The flexible array can be ordered
with red, blue, green, amber, or one of three shades of
white, bright white, warm white and antique white.
Can a piece of flexible array
be ordered with more than one color?
Yes, for example a piece of flexible
array may be ordered with a red led for every two blue
leds to provide a violet glow.
What led spacing is available
on the flexible arrays?
The flexible array is manufactured
with leds spaced 1" or 1/2" on center
What length of lead wire is
provided with the flexible array?
The flexible array is provided with
a 4' lead. Other lead lengths may be ordered.
What type of wire is used
for the leads?
A 2 conductor wire rated for voltage
and load is used for interior applications.
A marine grade conductor is used for any exterior applications.
Is flexible array weather
resistant?
Flexible array may be ordered weather
resistant. In this case the ends of the clear channel are
sealed with a product that is UL listed for marine applications
What type of extrusion houses
the flexible array?
The flexible array is housed in a
clear, uv resistant, flexible pvc extrusion.
What are the dimensions of
the extrusion?
.325" x .325"
How flexible is the extrusion?
The flexible array and extrusion
conform easily to gentle soffit or arch type curves. Add
a bit of heat from a hair dryer or even lay it in the summer
sun and it will conform to much tighter curves.
How is the flexible array
segment attached to a surface?
The flexible array segment has a
heavy duty dual faced tape which will adhere to any clean
sound flat surface.
Is the flexible array segment
easily adjusted after application?
The flexible array segment can be
easily adjusted for at least 36 hours after application.
After this initial period the adhesive will set and removal
or adjustment is more difficult.
What are the voltage requirements
of the flexible array?
The flexible array requires a 12
to 15 volt DC power supply.
Are other voltages available?
Yes, other voltages may be ordered.
Example, 24 or 32 volts.
Why can't I use a regular
AC transformer?
An AC transformer will power your
leds but, they will flicker, and the life of the leds will
be dramatically shortened. Use of an AC dimmer voids the
warranty.
I have powered my led array
and it doesn’t light. What's wrong?
Leds are polarity sensitive and
must be wired positive to positive, negative to negative.
Will the flexible array work
on 12 volt battery power?
The flexible array works great on
battery power, making them perfect for autos, boats, motor
homes, etc.
What are the power requirements
for the flexible arrays?
The 1 inch on center leds draw less
than 1.4 watts, the .5 inch less than 2.7 watts per foot.
Are the flexible led arrays
dimmable?
Yes, they can be dimmed by several
different methods.
Can they be dimmed with a
standard dimmer?
We recommend using an electronic
low voltage along with a magnetic transformer.
Can they be dimmed through
a lighting system?
Vantage and Lutron systems work extremely
well with flexible arrays.
Is there a dimmer available
to dim the 12 volt system?
The LED COMPANY can supply you with
a dimmer to dim 12 or 24 volt battery power or the low
voltage side of a 120/12 volt transformer.
Does the flexible led array
produce heat?
The flexible array produces very
little heat, which makes it a good product to use in spaces
with little or no ventilation.
How is the flexible led array
effected by temperature?
Generally, the lower the temperature
the more efficient the led output. This makes leds great
for wine rooms or other chilled environments.
Can the flexible array be
damaged by dropping?
The flexible array is extremely resistant
to shock and there is no filament to break.
What is the time between
ordering and shipping?
Most orders are shipped within 10
business days.
How are the products shipped?
Our standard shipping method is UPS
ground. Other services are available upon request.
How are the products packaged?
Our standard shipping container is
a 16"x16"x4" box in which the flexible array
pieces are coiled.
What is the Led Company warrantee
on the flexible led array?
The Led Company warrantees the flexible
led array for a period of 5 years under the recommended
operating conditions.
What must I do to seek warrantee
service?
Simply return the flexible array
to THE LED COMPANY and it will be inspected and replaced
as warranted
